WJMcIntosh (Catching up)'s photostream  

Photography has long been a passion of mine as I began shooting landscapes just out of high school in the Summer of 1980 with a Canon AE-1. It wasn't until 2005, however, that I became serious about my hobby when I ran out and purchased my first Nikon DSLR. Since that time I have become rather manic about shooting whenever I get the chance. In addition to my responsibilities as a choral music profesor at Mt. San Antonio College, I'm a single dad with three wonderful kids and a golden retriever, so my time to shoot is somewhat limited. After losing my wife to cancer in 2007, photography has become an incredible outlet for me and I am now out honing my craft whenever I get the chance. As you can see from my shots, I'm a bit of a Disney nut, and it doesn't help that I live only 15 minutes away from the Disneyland Resort. It's by far my favorite place to shoot in Orange County, and it's been a great place to practice over the past three or four years. I have also begun to shoot the California Coast quite frequently, and now make an annual pilgrimage to the Sierras and Yosemite. The other shots in my photostream are from recent travel to Europe and across the United States.

In recent news, several of my images have been published recently in the Orange County Register and in the December issue of 76 Pyro Magazine which features one of my shots on the cover as well as a five page layout inside with an article detailing my adventures while shooting the fireworks at the Disneyland Resort:




I'm presently shooting with a Nikon D7000 but am now working on how to take out a second mortgage on my house to purchase a D800 when they arrive. :) As for glass, I'm shooting with:
