Well....I'm 46... I am a Pilot. I learned to fly when I was 18. I am most at home at 40,000 feet. It's where I belong.

When I am not flying I am home enjoying my family and going on adventures with my 7 year old Son.

I got bitten by the photography interest about 6 years ago. I built a pinhole camera, and did some developing in the spare bathroom. After setting up and tearing down, I decided to plan and build my own darkroom. So it took about 6 months but I finally completed it. I was lucky. Someone sold me their whole film photography studio for $50. Fifty Bucks !
I got 2 enlargers. Beseler 23II and a Beseler 45M, and everything else in between. I love the 45M.
I love Rodinal.

I started with Pinhole and loved the contact printing but switched to Medium Format right away. I just loved the big negatives. I love the Pinhole medium format ZeroImage cameras, but wanted to try Large format so I built myself a 4x5 Pinhole camera which i absolutely love. It is built out of black foam board. Yep foam board, but the .017" hole is perfect and it puts out great negatives. It is the most relaxing camera to me. You just go and take photos, it takes care of the rest. It's simple and its fun. Someday I would like to try different kinds of model portraits with it.

I taught myself film photography. Film is one thing. Printing is a whole other degree in light physics. I burned through tons of paper before I found the RH Designs Analyzer Pro.
It's the Cats A**

Totally changed the way I print. Saved me a bunch of money.

About a year ago I tried Digital. It's easy to get sucked in. It's hard to go back to film, but I almost love it more than digital. Soothing darkroom work. Lately I have been restoring Agfa Medium format folders and digitally scanning the negatives. It is the best of both Worlds.

In the future I would love to try...printing under a master printer, and learning to use light in portraits to it's full potential.

Thanks for reading my story.
