A good part of my portfolio is dedicated towards nightscapes and travel photography. About ninety percent of the images you'll see on my stream are from the blue hour. That's because I go out and take photos mostly during this hour of the day - the few precious minutes before sunrise and after sunset.

"Yen's photos never fail to amaze me. I came across her stream while running a search for photos of Europe for my trip there. I was surprised to see her awesome blue hour shots. It would be an understatement to say that her photos are postcard-perfect. I feel they are much worthy in an art gallery.

Cheers to more travels and more great photos!"

"Yen, Is an exceptional photographer and artist. With every capture comes technique and patience as she captures some of the most amazing "blue hour" shots. Her photographs are some of the most beautiful images from all over the world and we are lucky that she shares them with all of us. She also includes her EXIF data so that others can learn from the master of BLUE HOUR. Keep up the good work and looking forward to more of your awesome pictures. Jave"

The vast range of subject matter across many countries, and indeed continents, enriches the variety of her work even more. It is a delight to see new postings from this excellent photographer; there is much to learn from her technique."

"Yen is one of, if not THE most incredible blue hour photographer on flickr. Her cityscapes at twlight (and occasionally night and morning) are each masterpieces in and of themselves. She is a very thoughtful photographer, always making sure to scout her locations to pick the ideal place and time to get the most majestic shots, and she succeeds in every one, always with flawless composition. The details she captures are second to none, and she always has a knack for incorporating reflections off of beautiful rivers and lakes. Her images are some of my favorite on flickr without a doubt!

She is a fantastic and supportive contact, and a great flickr friend!!!"

"The magic that Rainprel.... Yen, creates in her architectural captures, her landscapes.... waterscapes never fails to stir the senses. Such visual delight! Such uplifting works!

She knows her composition, and she has mastered her light, these are sure. The blue hour takes on a deeper, absolutely profound curve when she photographs it.

From scene to scene to scene of beautiful Europe ~ breathtaking places that I could only imagine seeing with my own eyes... and from moment to moment when every intricate ingredient in capturing a scene comes forward to complete every image. Yes, she knows her light, indeed! She does it all with grace and elan.

Her stream is never boring, never mundane.

She is one of the very best! She is among my most respected artists here on Flickr. I am honored to call her my friend. 'So easy to get along with, so respectful, and very intelligent, it is always a joy whenever she visits and puts her comments in on my works.

Yen, maraming salamat. More power to you, kaibigan! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. For inspiring us to strive harder to get better with our craft! You are a true artist ~ MABUHAY KA!!! :)

    ~ Floydian ~ says:

"Anyone who has plans to make blue hour shots should stop at Rainprel her gallery and look around and see what's possible during the magical hour in late evening light.

Yen knows how to combine architecture, composition, light, and colour all in one superb shot. It looks easy to set up your tripod and making a long exposure, but we all know how tricky it can be in the exposure with over-exposed highlights.
You should study her work first to see how she deals with all this....and at the end you will see why she is mastering this technique in a superb way...!!!"
