Welcome to my Flickr site.

Strictly speaking, I have a strong preference for photographing the ever-changing railway scene in the United Kingdom, however I would definitely be interested in pursuing other forms of photography in the near future. I intend to set up another site for such photos at some point.

I'm somewhat of a traditionalist, in the sense that I always try to photograph the train with the sun at a 3/4 angle to the train. This, I feel, produces the most desirable picture quality. As from May 2010, I use a full frame Nikon D700 DSLR and all of my pictures are taken on a 'standard' 50mm Nikon prime lens. NONE of my pictures have been digitally altered in any shape or form, they are exactly as they appear on the back of my camera. For this reason, I do my utmost best to ensure that I take the image correctly first time, this includes timing, composition and exposure.
