I've always been interested in aircraft, particularly airliners, and worked in the airline industry for 43 years until I retired in 2005. I used to do the 'number crunching' like most spotters but gave it up years ago (when you work with them you're usually too busy to write anything down). I've always concentrated on airliner photography and have photo's going back to the early 1960's.

I had built up over 8,500 photo's on Fotopic until they sadly went bust early in 2011. Fortunately I have everything backed up and I'm slowly rebuilding the collection here on flickr..

I had a rubbish camera (Kodak Retinette 1B) taking slides until the early 1980's when I bought my first SLR, so most of the early stuff isn't top quality. Over the years the slides were stored in cold damp lofts and garages and of the 3,000 or so that I had, I threw around 2,000 away. The rest have been cleaned up and are online.

I was finally dragged 'kicking and screaming' into the 21st century in 2004 when I bought my first digital camera. I currently have a Canon 350D and a Canon 40D.

Decided to list them in sets, mainly as aircraft by type (because that's the way I have them archived!) as well as my more recent visits to different places. I've done all the older aircraft which are no longer around and I'm currently going through the more modern ones alphabetically. I'm up to B (for Boeing) at the moment (Jan-12). When I've finished that I still have 4 years of prints to scan & clean up from 2001/2005. I wonder if I'll ever finish!
