I am a versatile artist who works mostly in oils, and love sculpting (clay, paper mache, mixed media). My trademark is variety. I paint subjects ranging from realistic landscapes, still lives, seascapes and portraits to dreamscapes and imaginary scenes. Portraits are done in oils, pastels, pencil or charcoal, from life or from photographs; wildlife from photographs in conjunction with photographer Jackie During (from St Helena Bay on the West Coast of South Africa).

I also teach art at a private art school, give art lessons at home, translate (anything from legislation to cartoons), and illustrate, edit and proofread children's books; I was a journalist and also did a weekly newspaper cartoon for a year.

I do commssioned copies of the old masters. I have copied a number of Klimt and Gainsborough paintings (even as big as 2m x 2m) and also Van Gogh, Matisse, Gauguin and Lautrec.
