When I carry that camera, it forces me to walk slower, and look closer. Which means I notice more details. Which means I take more pleasure in the beauty of life's variety and detail. There are also many other nice benefits, such as the kindness of strangers who indulge my passion, invite me to photograph them and their delightful possessions, or share thoughtful feedback on how to continue improving. (Also, since I kinda suck at drawing, it's awfully nice to have a creative outlet that actually matches up with the images in my head. Cool.)
Besides photography, I enjoy hiking, website development, classic RKO or MGM movies, and crochet.
