  "I ran into Maria shortly after becoming a flickr member and we have been friends ever since. I really enjoy my visits to her photostream and her visits to mine. I get a strong sense of warmth and simplicity coming through in her work. Her portraits of children are beautifully tender yet unsentimental, her shots of the UK’s south coast always make me want to be there and her abstract/minimalist compositions remind me that she is still exploring the boundaries of what makes an interesting picture. I applaud that sense of adventure, along with her compassion. I have enjoyed her photostream a great deal and will keep coming back as long as she continues to post pictures for me to look at!"
