Short:

I am no longer in Spain. I have a new camera. I like shooting "important" things as if they weren't important. I like landscapes and cityscapes.

Long:

I am a Spanish teacher by day, and a gondolier by night.

I only just got a decent camera - before, I was using a Spanish point-and-shoot, which wasn't bad, all things considered. I neither have, nor know how to use, Photoshop. As of June 2010, I've started editing photos in Picnik.

...

As on December 2010, I've stopped doing that.

I'm interested lately in the marginalization of "important" places and buildings. I just came back from another trip to Spain, and I noticed that the people who live in places like Barcelona -- full of cultural monuments! -- tend to ignore those monuments, or at least, live life without paying them too much undue attention. I'm interested in capturing that experience in my photos of tourist locations.

I also like abandoned places. We think of ourselves, of humanity, as being permanent; the truth is, we aren't. While I haven't entered into any abandoned buildings yet, I'd like to. I've taken pictures of islands which used to be military outposts, but are now nature reserves. I like seeing the human elements, and the military elements, especially, being overtaken by nature. It says something, in a way.
