Hi - I'm 70 (November 2010). I'm a believer - became a Christian in France at age 60 and my faith is the most important thing to me.

Photography has been a passionate hobby since I bought my first SLR some twenty years ago - a second-hand Russian Zenit for just £10! That's when I learnt the basics and a very steep learning curve it was. Then came a Yashica SLR and eventually a Nikon F4 which I dearly loved and still have, but it's film-based of course.

In 1999 I retired to France and lapsed in my photography until last year because the demands of renovating an old farmhouse and converting a one-and-a-half acre field into a garden took over all my time. Meanwhile the digital revolution was happening all around me and it was about a year ago that I decided to return to my hobby in earnest by buying a Nikon digital SLR. Since then I've been as enthusiastic as ever I was in the early days.
