Ryan Christopher VanWilliams is a 23 year old, African-American, hip to the streets. Born and raised in Queens, New York he not only photographs the lifestyle but, he lives it. He began his career in 2001 while attending the High School of Graphic Communication Arts in Hell's Kitchen - Manhattan. Studying the fine art of black & white processing through his high school years and continuing in college as well. He is currently pursuing a degree in digital photography while attending LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City - Queens. His background in the fine art drawing, street art such as graffiti, stencils, posters, graphic and mixed media design has allowed him to express his imagination into images, various canvas, writings and to be very creative as far as locations and perspective. He says, "Overall I aim to show who I am and what I'm about in my body of work. I love REALITY in my imagery, to tell a story through my hands, just the nitty gritty of NY culture and who I really am is what I want to convey. Live the image so to speak!" Mr. VanWilliams is a not only a product of his environment but, a high end, exclusive luxury product at that. He is currently involved with the fashion industry, working with various models, wardrobe stylist/designers and other industry professionals.
