I be a Deidre.
I'm quite random at times.
I spend a lot of my time at the Oregon Zoo, it's my home for the most part. Unless school wants to steal me away. Or something to do with home.

I'm also a Zooguide there. You'll most likely find me with a camera plastered to my face. But I do like to get away from the camera and just hang out with the animals, and do animal talks to educate zoo-goers about the animals at the zoo. I also do enrichment, which is a ton of fun.

I obtained my AAS degree in Integrated Media; Digital Photography in the summer of 2010. I am returning to school to obtain a degree in biology next. I'm debating if I want to do marine biology (sea otters being a main subject) ornithology (corvids need to be studied more, but I heard they're quite difficult to study.) or with Asian elephants, (focus would be on the Borneo subspecies.)

Other than the zoo and photography, I enjoy video games, hanging out with friends, sleeping, try to get some traditional art going, and the occasional science fun.

Regarding use of my images. Well, that's a big no. My images are mine, are protected under copyright law, and may no be distributed by any other person. However, if you would like to contact me FIRST about using an image as a reference in a traditional or digital art piece, I would be more than happy to discuss that. However, my photos cannot be used in a photo-manipulation as they are not stock images.

Regarding the copyright to the pictures. Even though I am a volunteer, I am also a seasoned member, and use that to do a regular zoo visit. Pictures taken as a volunteer are of volunteers doing their things around the zoo to create slide shows etc. rather than the animals since the zoo has staff/interns to take those pictures. All pictures here are taken from areas that are viewable by all zoo visitors; with exception of the elephant painting. I paid more money to go over there. If I do happen to take a picture on volunteer hours, I'll make sure to add copyright Oregon Zoo, picture by Deidre Lantz..
