I am a German born artist painter and New Zealand citizen. Thomas - Scicli Lauterbach or just Tama what my Maori mum calls me.
Nature, art, philosophy and the art of 'reconditioning' ourselves are what I am mostly interested in. We have to learn to make peace with nature and to love ourselves and others.

Have you heard about Dr. Masaru Emoto ? I love George Harrison´s "My sweet Lord" amongst a lot of other music.

I feel strongly connected to the place where I came from Bavaria in Germany, Sicily and New Zealand where I mostly live.

Learning Te Reo Maori (the Maori language) and Tikanga Maori brought me close to the world of the Maori people. Living close to the trees and birds, and listening to the spirits of Papatuanuku (mother earth) became very much part of my life. My paintings tell stories rather then just depicting 'objects'. I never search for stories, I find them. I am most grateful to the many Maori people who helped me along the path, supported me, encouraged me and shared with me.
