The act of drawing has to do more than shapes, tones, edges and lines broken through my eyes to my limbs to pen to paper. It is preconceptions that demystify, hindrances that crumble, thoughts that untangle into a single string stretching beyond myself to an intimate bow before the universe whose shapes and tones and lines are its bows to me. Humble I strive to match their sincerity for a moment. When that, too, is gone, and the markings of another appear, the pen is a pen, the paper - yellow, I will greet you, my friend, with the same bow; for like shapes and tones and lines and light and shades and thoughts and beings, there are no boundaries between us.
