My paintings follow the structure I was taught by the late Vera Diamond who was my teacher, mentor and friend. Vera Diamond was a psychotherapist and founding member of the British Autogenic Society. Vera studied Creative Mobilization Technique (CMT) with its creator Dr. Wolfgang Luthe (1922 – 1985), a German born research physician famous for his contribution to Autogenic Training and Therapy. Following Luthe’s death in 1985 Vera became the foremost authority of CMT in England. I studied with her at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital and later we worked extensively with children and adults in developing this process which leads to insights, self-healing and creativity.

"Sophie’s work is extraordinary transcending boundaries and offering us new spiritual insights that not only define her as a profound and exceptional artist, but as a healer who is not distracted by the usual visual habits that distract and prevent artists from "real seeing." She is a visionary, an active participant in life’s adventure with a creative intelligence that allows her to experience multi-dimensions. She listens from the depths always leaving room for the unexpected to happen in which the personal and collective unconscious reveal alternative realities reflected in the spirits guided by mediums in her work.
Sophie has the amazing ability to perceive the unheard, the unspoken and "the unseen" that unfolds in her paintings bringing new conceptual meaning to time and space. In an altered state, this exceptionally gifted painter creates a communion with spirit and shares her paranormal experiences with those that have an open mind to receive the gift of her healing energy and pure artistic
Integrity. Where two or more are gathered she exists in the midst, a woman who paints with a quality of attention that is the greatest gift to those who are fortunate to experience her work on a visceral level.
She expresses a higher order of consciousness, a state of being for those who sense the energy and frequency of her art allowing the viewer to be subtly or profoundly transformed. Sophie gives all of us the opportunity to share a higher energy state, and with it comes an enlargement of consciousness with a heightening of intuition and intelligence.
She shares expansive feelings of love and well-being, states of mystical opening as well as the turbulence of the river that flows over obstacles without pushing the natural flow creating an element of grace, a surrendering into life's pure energy on its terms. Sophie is truly a remarkable and magical artist, an extraordinary woman, artist and healer of the spirit and soul."

"Sophie's paintings explore the poetics of allegory. Her visions, taken from various literary sources and an attunement to spiritual realms, are visually engaging and rich, while retaining directness and clarity.
Sophie is blessed with that inner vision that few of us aquire.
She is reborn, and aware of the matrix ever changing around her within this quantum hologram. She lucidly manifests her own magickally divine visions from the inside out."

"It is a beautiful and inspiring adventure each time I visit Sophie's images of her work. There is always something so lovely to touch my soul and connect me with her private realm which then becomes my realm as well. It is one thing to have a gift and altogether something else when one uses it to inspire others at such a deep level. I love her generosity of spirit and am thankful that our paths have crossed. I wish the best for you always, Sophie :-) xx m.a."

"Sophie Shapiro is a truly inspirational artist. Her art never ceases to amaze me.
Her use of colour and texture is a joy to behold. Being a photographer, I felt underqualified to comment at first but her wonderful manner put me at ease.
I am astounded with her output and dedication to her art. Her humanity, spirituality and awareness are aspirational. I have had the honor to photograph her work on a few occasions and to see her art up close is amazing. Seeing it on a screen does not do it justice, you get a taste but not the main course.
I look forward to seeing and enjoying her art and personality for many years to come.

    Sophie Shapiro, an enigma.
