I was born in 1970 in Buenaventura, a port on the Colombian pacific coast. My work is based on traditional photographic methods I remain faithful to. My works do not contain any retouching, any revised editions or arrangements by computer (no photoshop, no HDR). I do not edit the photos on the camera. I never edit my pictures. I work only with the camera before of the shot. I do not use polarized filters on the objectives. I am often outdoors looking for details in nature to find new special perspectives. I normally use high saturation and look for strong colour contrasts. I like landscapes and animals captured from unknown angles. I pay attention to textures and minimalism. I also have experience in photo reportages and portraits. My main inspiration derives from my respect for nature and love for life.

Nací en 1970 en el puerto de Buenaventura, en la Costa Pacífica Colombiana. La base de mi trabajo es la NO EDICIÓN. Permanezco fiel a los tradicionales métodos fotográficos. Mis obras no poseen ninguna clase de edición, de arreglos, ni retoques de computador (sin photoshop, sin HDR). Tampoco edito en la cámara después de tomar las fotos. No utilizo filtros polarizadores en los objetivos. A menudo busco detalles en la naturaleza para darles una especial perspectiva. Utilizo alta saturación y busco los contrastes en los colores. Paisajes y animales me gusta captarlos desde inéditos ángulos con llamativos tonos. El foto-reportaje y los retratos me han aportado también experiencia. Las texturas y el minimalismo no son ajenos a mi producción. El respeto por la naturaleza y el amor por la vida son mi principal fuente de inspiración.

Ich bin in 1970 in Buenaventura, an der kolumbianischen Pazifikküste geboren worden. Die Grundlagen für meine Arbeiten liegen in den traditionellen Methoden; ich bleibe den alten fotografischen Konzepten treu. Meine Bilder erfahren keine Bearbeitung, auch keine Retuschen in Computer (ohne Photoshop, ohne HDR). Ich bearbeite in dem Fotoapparat die Bilder auch nicht. Ich arbeite nur mit dem Fotoapparat vor dem shot. Ich benutze keine Filter in den Objektiven. Oft wähle ich Details aus Naturszenen, um ihnen eine andere Perspektive zu geben. Normalerweise benutze ich eine hohe Farbsättigung und suche Farbkontraste. Landschaften und Tiere fotografiere ich unter unüblichen Blickwinkeln. Auch achte ich auf Texturen und Minimalismus. In Fotoreportage und Portraits habe ich Erfahrung. Ich empfinde Freude und Respekt für die Natur und liebe das Leben. Das ist meine Inspiration für mein Schaffen.

Tengo la fotografía como afición, o pasatiempo, serio desde hace medio año. Mi evolución ha sido del rechazo del retoque al fanatismo del converso. Porque con la edición digital se pueden conseguir resultados impactantes y nuevas estéticas impensables con la fotografía clásica. Hay maestros en ello. Tampoco olvidemos que estamos en la era digital. Para mi, el retoque digital ha sido la herramienta con la que consigo que lo malo no lo parezca tanto. Pero mi deseo, en el fondo, es conseguir un control en la captura fotográfica que me dé los mejores resultados sin la necesidad de edición posterior. Y juanflauta es una ejemplo a seguir."
