I love the desolation, loneliness and beauty of both true wilderness and the city. The web of human interconnectedness is complex and fragile, sometimes fleeting and other times unbreakable. You can feel completely alone when surrounded by millions of people, or that nature is your closest confident and friend when you are miles from civilization or another living soul. Life can be hard and unknown and often full of suffering, but once in a while, if you are looking for it, the world can be a place of astonishing beauty.
