When I first uploaded a few pictures to flickr in October 2008 I was primarily a photographer of buses but in semi-retirement [owing to my lack of interest in modern vehicles and a lack of appropriate subjects and opportunities to shoot]. In the months which have followed I have indulged every whim to snap at anything which appeals to me knowing that somebody, somewhere is likely to share my interest. Such is the nature of flickr with its myriad minority groups that I can spend hours marvelling at others' pictures, enter into interesting discussions and satisfying reminiscence and enjoy the feedback that my own images generate. Even if only one person is prompted to pass a remark, there is my satisfaction. Because digital photography is so cheap - now that I've invested in my kit - I might as well get out there and snap.

At the same time I am scanning my photos from the mid-1980s onward and in time more of these - mainly transport scenes - will continue to appear. My "thing" as you may see cropping up in comments and discussions here and there, is the Transport Landscape, photos where you are supposed to take your interest in vehicles and go and capture them in their working environment. My efforts can be seen rolled up into one easily perused set:

It seems a number of my images have been in Explore. Thanks to all the viewers for their interest and sparing the time to comment and "fave" my pictures. It is very much appreciated.

Nobody taps you on the shoulder to point out that you have "made Explore". Perhaps some of yours are there too?

All comments and criticism are happily received. Feel free to tag my pictures. Note that I obsessively map all my photos as best I can. You should be able to pinpoint where each image was taken by following the map link on the lower right of each page. If I get any locations wrong, I'd be pleased to have this pointed out.

I don't like "viral" groups: you know the ones, "you're invited to post this to my group, now go and stick my logo on another twelve". No, thanks. Any such comments will be deleted. Meaningful comments are always welcome and I encourage all to share their reactions and interpretations.

Please respect my ownership of the images on my photostream. All rights are reserved on all of my images which, though not usually watermarked, may not be published or sold without permission.

BTW, if you see my screen name as "nodsi" as in the image above, it's a unicode error on your computer. It is supposed to read "crisparmour" upside-down.
