I have been pursuing photography as a hobby on and off for a long time. I got back into it in summer 2008 with the purchase of a P&S digital camera, meant to replace my film SLR for the most part, except on vacations. Instead it inspired me to buy a Canon Rebel XSI about 6 weeks later.

I don't get a lot of time to shoot between working, commuting, family, friends, chores, etc. I wish I had more time. I love to travel so I try to plan at least one trip a year where there will be lots of photo opps. - and then I take a long time to get the photos online!

I enjoy sharing info. and comments with people via Flickr and have learned a lot just by looking around. Thanks to anyone who has taken the time to look at or comment on my photos. I try to put only my favorites online but there are a lot of boring test shots or shots that I took just to play around or to post in a specific group so some of the plain shots are in my photostream, too. Maybe they will help another amateur making a lens decision.

Right now I have the XSI, the 18-55mm IS kit lens, a 55-250mm lens and a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 lens. That's probably all I need - would like to upgrade to L or L quality but so far haven't found anything that either gives me more reach in telephoto, or is a vast improvement over the kit lens for my type of shooting.
