Just a programmer bunny who's spent plenty of time in the UK and California, on a strange variety of projects, including the 3DO and Mac versions of The 11th Hour, reworking the entire video chain of Cleaner 5, and developing a device's bootloader, 2.4GHz audio link, accelerometer, and other functionality.

You can sometimes find me - though not nearly as often as I'd like - on Second Life, as Porsupah Ree.

My photography interests were rekindled in 2006, courtesy of a friend's old Canon A200 (an early compact, no zoom, 2MP), replaced in 2008 with a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 (a superzoom point & shoot), and in January 2010, a Nikon D90 with a Tamron f3.5-6.3 28-300mm lens with stabilization.

September 2010 saw the lucky acquisition of a used Nikkor 300mm f/4 AF-S, a lens not only of substantially wider aperture, but excellent clarity and contrast; a true delight to wield. Longer and brighter will hopefully come in time, but this is a truly remarkable lens.

Where next? Likely a Nikon 1.7x teleconverter, as the Nikkor apparently plays very well with it, and I've recently found myself in particular need of more reach. Far-off dreams include the Nikkor 200-400mm f/4 and 600mm f/4.
