* Educating parents on disease prevention and management
* Counseling parents on reproductive health and providing financial support to obtain the various family planning methods they choose.
* Demonstrate to parents in concrete terms the debilitating effect a large family has on the health of the children and the family as a whole.
* Provide financial aid for laboratory and diagnostic services related to a child's specific medical/surgical problems.
Thousands of poor Boholano families in the remote barrios still have little or no access to healthcare. Weighed down by the rapid population growth in these barrios the government of Bohol is hard pressed to offer them family health services. Most gravely affected by this health care deficit are the mothers and their children. Illnesses such as cerebral palsy can be found among many of the poor families.
The FAFCC'S goal is to establish and maintain a mobile clinic that will deliver compassionate and quality health services to the indigent children of the remote barrios free of charge. The Clinic will also carry out a continuing program of community education on disease prevention and public health concerns. Of importance, the clinic will emphasize reproductive health counseling including the promotion of various methods of contraception, methods that are still considered taboo in this region.
Since its organization in March of 2000, the clinic has operated entirely on private donations. The clinic was named after the founder's mother Flora Apalisok, who was born and raised in the province of Bohol.
