I'm Joe. I have been interested in photography my entire life, but only since 2006 have I devoted a major amount of time and effort to taking pictures and actively learning to better my skills.

I sell royalty-free licenses for many of my photos at , but if you don't see the specific photo you are looking for at that site, contact me directly with your request. Fotolia is a stock photography website, not a fine art site, so my artistic images can only be puchased from me directly.

IIn case anyone wants to see where something in one of pictures is, I try to put all of my photos on the Flickr map. I have noticed that some people will geotag where the main subject is (Like for shuttle launches, they tag the launch pad), but I always geotag where I was when I took the picture. If a photo isn't on the map, then either I don't know where I was when I took the picture or I was at my house.

Things I Really Want to See

On 8/21/2017 at 3:25 EST, there will be a total solar eclipse over North America. I would love to see that. It will pass over Oregon, though the middle of the US, through Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina. I can't wait this long... Maybe I'll just have to fly to Asia sometime. They have a solar eclipse like every year.

Another thing that might be interesting is a Transit of Venus on June 6, 2012. And luckily for me, it's visible in North America (Though Asia still has the best view...lucky continent)... In case you don't know what this is, it's just like an eclipse: Venus passing in from of the sun. But is's so small that you wouldn't notice it without knowing to look for it. They are definitly more rare than either lunar or solar eclipses. Except for once in 2004, the last time it happened was 1882 and after 2012, the next time will be in 2117. Only seven have ever been seen since the invention of the telescope and I missed the one in '04.. So I think I'll try to see this once in a lifetime event. And if I'm still alive in 67,000 years, I would be able to see a transit of both Venus and Mercury at the same time...
