We cover political news and information from South Carolina. The Palmetto Scoop (TPS) has been reinventing and redefining the Palmetto State’s political scene since 2007.
We write about the stuff that the mainstream media misses or ignores. When we’re not breaking huge stories, we’re offering commentary and insider analysis that South Carolinians can’t get anywhere else.
We’re fun, edgy, at times crass, and admittedly conservative. And we’re just fine with that.
We’ve been featured in Newsweek and numerous other publications, and used as a source in nearly every national, state, and local news outlet.
We do ask that you register once and log in to comment. This is a way to keep the trolls out and the real comments in. We don’t censor discussion (as long as it’s PG-13) and we hope that each post is only the beginning of the debate.
We also have an anonymous tip line where anyone can drop a quick note and give us the scoop. We’ll then follow up, do a little investigating, and if it’s news worthy, we’ll post something. This is the key to our uncovering issues that are of concern to folks in our state.
We know that there’s a large group of people that would get into politics if only it were a little less boring. And that’s where we try to help. We hope that, whether you’re a junkie or just want to have some fun with your daily dose of political mumbo-jumbo, you’ll become a TPS regular.
And, in case we forgot to mention it, we’re the best because YOU make us the best.
