Junior's my derby name. My real name is Robert Scheer, and I'm a full-time photojournalist (Indianapolis Star), and have been professional for 15+ years. You name it, I've probably photographed it (or something very similar).

I'm still learning the sport of roller derby. It's a complex game and I firmly believe that it takes about 100 games before one gets really good at shooting any sport. Not there yet. . .

My wife skates, so that makes me the league photographer at one of Indy's two leagues, the Circle City Derby Girls (two teams, the Socialites and Party Crashers). But, it's no chore, as it's an awesome group of girls that I love to support in any way I can.

I'm the league photographer/videographer, part-time mascot, cheerleader, and bodyguard.

I use Canon still equipment, Dynalite strobes, Apple computers/software, and Sony and Canon video equipment.
