I've been photographing for about two years now and during this time I have experienced all the highs and lows, and frustrations associated with amateur photography.

What is a constant for me however is the enjoyment and sense of excitement I get in thinking of an image and the setting out to capture it, most often failing, or to uncover something completely different and unforeseen along the way.

I am particularly indebted to the wonderful, diverse range of friendships I have made via Flickr. I continue to be inspired by the talent, beauty and generosity shown by so many of you. Your encouragement and support is what keeps me trying.

I am also passionate about food - fresh, natural food and of course I simply adore chocolate and a good glass of red wine. In recent years I have enjoyed travelling to Italy, Portugal and Tunisia. From time to time I try to learn a little Portuguese.
