Deborah Owen L.Ac, M.Ac, Dipl. Ac.
is licensed with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and is board certified with The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Deborah graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston, MA.
She is trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture as well as Classical Japanese Acupuncture. She has been on the faculty of the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM) at Northwestern Health Sciences University since returning to the Twin Cities in 2000 where she teaches and supervises students in the teaching clinics. Her background in Japanese acupuncture emphasizes gentle needling techniques and fewer needles than other traditions. She has found that Community Acupuncture shares common ground with her training in Japanese acupuncture and has been able to incorporate the two with great success. During the past 2 years, Deborah has been an active proponent of Community Acupuncture and has helped develop two teaching clinics in Minneapolis that utilize Community Acupuncture.
