I'm relatively new to photography, unless you count the countless photos I took while in elementary school on a cheap kids' camera. One day I'll scan the best of those and upload them for posterity. In the meantime, I have lots to learn. I love feedback, I love looking at other people's work, so please, comment!
I've always been a visual sort, and am typically involved in one creative outlet or another, including wheel-thrown pottery, jewelry-making, and cooking. I love beautiful things, and my definition of beauty is broad. I am also endlessly fascinated by the ways people express themselves.
Photography is a new way of looking at the world for me, of being in the world. Sometimes I feel it connects me to my subject, other times it seems the process of being an observer disconnects me from the observed. I'm enjoying playing in both arenas, and skating on the edge between them.
