Her feeling had started to come back and she was instantly washed over with pain. The crowd’s cheers grew louder and louder and the large black shape in front of her was beginning to take form. Her vision continued to sharpen, her eyes to pique at small sounds, and the pain was becoming easier to ignore. She realized she could see everything, down to the last detail. A dirty man in the back row of the Arena had a mole on his cheek that Laurina could see three small hairs sprouting from. He smelled horrible too. Her body, although she could feel the blows and the increasing heat of the Arena floor, had ceased to feel pain. She was hunched over as Praetor hammered her chest with a series of punches. All at once, something inside Laurina had snapped. Time seemed to stop as she felt the change occur. It was similar to when she had jumped across the rooftops before, but now was extremely intense. The feeling coursed through her veins and raced down her spine.

“Enough!” she yelled at the top of her lungs as she caught one of Praetor’s metal fists in her hand. She stopped the blow dead in its tracks and lifted her head to Praetor’s helmet. He tried to pull his arm back but she held it firm. The crowd hushed as they witnessed the event. No one had seen any clouds or flashes of colors.

“What’s going on?” they whispered. “No one buffed her.”

“I don’t know, but she looks pissed.” said another.
