Hello!

I don't describe myself well... I'll try and do this without using the word tubby... oops.

Well I'm a calligrapher and I think that defines me more than anything else - I work full time doing calligraphy for weddings and events all over the UK.

I've been doing this for years... at a guess I think it's about 16 years but I don't really want to count.

My interest in calligraphy has come from various sources - as a girl I never liked my handwriting and changed it all the time.

I got in a lot of trouble when I was 14 for doing my homework in my best friend's handwriting, because hers was nicer than mine.

I've had close friends who were designers and typographers, and I've always loved and appreciated good design.

I trained in languages and marketing, so I look at words from every perspective... meanings and origins of words, changing language over time, and power of words in advertising, persuasive writing, etc....

I love my job, and I consider myself very lucky to be doing this for a living. I'll never be a millionaire, but I look forward to my work every day when I wake up.

I have a cat and a boyfriend and I like indie music and cake. I read fantasy novels and speak a bit of French and Italian. I love mountains and lakes and hate concrete.
