In short: I got into photography after my vacation to the States, for which I bought a new camera (Sony H50). Within a year I realized I wanted to be able to get more out of my camera, so I started looking, and saving up, for a DSLR.

In 2010 I bought the Sony A550. Now I can hear a lot of you asking "Why Sony, why not Canon or Nikon?" Well, the Sony A550 was the fastest camera (7 fps) available (at that price point) and very good in low-light conditions. The speed has only just been matched by Canon, a year after I got mine ;-)
Since I was, and am, shooting a lot of indoor horse-riding, that's the main reason.

I studied applied physics, so I was, and am, used to an analytic approach. This is something I'm trying to let go when taking photo's, but it may take a while before I will be able to do that completely.
