The Catch: Costa Rica is a high octane reality competition series that takes the contestants on a fishing adventure like you’ve never seen before. Twelve men and women with limited fishing experience travel to Costa Rica where they must live with one another, hone their angling skills and out-fish the competition to earn the title of Ultimate Fisherman and win a prize of $50,000. In thirteen half hour episodes, the contestants will experience all the thrills and heartbreak of costal fishing in Costa Rica and will hold the fate of their fellow contestants in their hands as they must choose who to vote off at the conclusion of each round.

These twelve strangers all bring something different to the table. A school teacher, a used car salesman, a retired grandfather, a boat captain, a student, a traveler, a model, and a computer technician are among the distinct personalities that experience all the most exciting and the most challenging that Costa Rican fishing has to offer.

Hostess Aurelia Riley guides these twelve contestants through their adventures with the help of three fishing experts, one in each of the coveted, diverse fishing spots all across the country. Some of the big game fish hauled in by the anglers include tarpon, tuna, dorado, sailfish and the biggest of them all, marlin. For one determined contestant, it will take perseverance, the ability to learn the art of fishing and the skill to win the battle with these graceful monsters of the sea to become the Ultimate Fisherman.
