Hi Strobists,

I've been a dance and arts photographer for 17 years, working around Britain. I used to light with Bowens Prolites until small strobe off camera flash became viable and I find it much more versatile and fascinating to use. I use Nikon SB800s.One thing I love is the very short flash duration. Around, think a thousandth of a second, which freezes movement to razor sharp quality.

The companies I work for are always seeking images that stand out, so I try my best to come up with stuff. I would call all my images a collaboration. Because if I didn't have great dancers and artistic directors to work with, I'd just be shooting blank walls.

It's great to be part of Strobist and it's great to be in 2008 with so much great kit to use.

Then again, my favourite photgrapher is ManRay. And I always try to keep in mind how he expressed such brilliant ideas with, relatively speaking, such basic equipment.
