Explainthatstuff is a website featuring over 400 FREE, easy-to-understand science, technology, and how-it-works articles for the whole family.

We use Flickr mainly to find Creative Commons-licensed photos that can illustrate scientific points in our articles.

We do, of course, return the favor: all the photos and artworks on our site are also licensed under a Creative Commons License and some of our photos are also available here on Flickr. You're very welcome to use our photos for any noncommercial purpose, online or offline, providing you credit us.

Our pictures aren't meant to be brilliantly creative or superb examples of photography; they're just supposed to make simple scientific points or show how things work.

We can provide high-resolution (typically 3072 x 2304 pixel) versions of any of our photos for commercial use.
