My name is Valerie Hearder and I'm a textile artist, quilter and adore hand stitched textiles and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I've been importing textiles from women's groups in South Africa. My goal is to help create economic opportunity for women in South Africa who struggle to support families while facing the crushing HIV/AIDS pandemic. I give 15% of the profits from the sale of these textile to the Stephen Lewis Foundation and that goes to support Grandmothers who care for the 18 million orphans left behind by AIDS.
