California native Mindy Peterson began quilting in 1992. While working as a lawyer, a secretary asked her if she wanted to join her in a beginning quilt class. Her creative juices flowing, she found that quilting not only allowed her to express her artistic interests but also was a wonderful way to relieve the stress of the day.

Mindy has expanded her passion to quilt designing. Her “5acre Designs” has begun turning out patterns. Her specialty is needleturn applique and almost all of her patterns reflect that design style.

Mindy lives outside of Kansas City with her husband on, naturally, five acres.
