I was born and raised in rural north-central Pennsylvania. Being raised in the country, I grew especially fond of the outdoors and being with nature and wildlife. With these interests, I decided to pursue a career in wildlife science. In May 2006, I finished my PhD from North Dakota State University and moved to Gainesville, Florida in June 2006 to work as an avian ecologist in the private sector. My work primarily focuses on wind turbine-wildlife interactions.
