I'm a Nikon Girl. I bought my D40 in September 2008...
It's working very well for me so far!
My other kit:
*18-55mm 3.5-4.5G AF-S Kit Lense
*50mm 1.4G AF-S Nifty Fifty
*50mm 1.8E AI £30 wonder
*(and rarely) 55-200mm 3.5-4.5G AF-S VR Zoom!
*SB-400 - affordable 'extra' flash which goes strobist with:
*SC-17 / SC-28 cables (ebay is your friend guys!)
