Developed interest in photography after retirement but it had to compete many other interests besides the in-born resistance not to indulge in something one wasn't at least above averaget - to start with

A big nudge was given by my wife who presented a Canon EOS 7D and an EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 lens for my 60th birthday in Feb 2010. A long trip to Europe got me into some familiarity with my camera and encouraged me to add to my gear and try and make this my main interest post retirement. This also goes well with my other big interest in traveling.

Having travelled all over the world many times does not qualify me to honestly call me as a much travelled man because the hundred odd trips had always been on work living from hotels and suitcases so one hadn't seen much outside meeting rooms, conference halls and restaurants :-)

Changing that since 2006 has been fun. I wish to use my camera gear to multiply my pleasure of traveling.

My other big passion in life is cricket which I played to a decent level as a young man and which I write about, off and on.

And, of course, reading which I missed so terribly during my hectic working career
