About me: Hi I’m Hank also know as Fotofreddie. My home is upstate New York, but I also spend a lot of time in Germany. I’m an retired truck owner driver. Retired because of back and hip injuries. I ran my little trucking company in a partnership with my mom. I still own my well known 1981 Kenworth K-100C VIT Aerodyne. My truck is known around the world as “Hank’s Highway Hilton” My website about my truck can be found @ www.highwayhank.multiply.com Ever since I was a little boy, I wanted to be a trucker and that’s what I did until I got hurt. I used to drive all over the US. I also had the opportunity to go on 2 International Show Truck Tours all over Northen and Eastern Europe in 1992 and 1993. Also in 1995 and 1996 I had the opportunity to drive a big Mack show truck in Germany and northern Europe for the German electronics chain Media Markt.. Besides trucking and truck shows, my next biggest activity is photography. I have always liked taking pictures, and that’s how I got my nickname Fotofreddie. I used to take so many pictures, that my young German friends started calling me “Fotofreddie” Besides my trucking activities, I have also liked serving my community. I’m a 38 plus year member of my local fire department. But because of my injuries I have been reassigned to non physical strenuous duties. I was also a member of our local volunteer ambulance corp until a sneaky paid ambulance service along with dirty politics got them shut down. I am also a member of our local Kiwanis club. I am also an honorary member of the Emden Germany Fire Department, City Center Station. In the summer of 2006 I got a new computer which had Windows Movie Maker and also finally a DSL connection and since than I’ve been posting videos on Youtube. In the fall of 2006 I finally got my first two digital camera with video feature, and started making my own videos. I had planned on dividing my video making time between my fire department and a my skater and other young friends, and opened two accounts for this on YouTube, www.youtube.com/fotofreddiefirevids and www.youtube.com/fotofreddiesk8vids . I no sooner got started with my fire action videos and my fire department’s hierarchy let me know of their displeasure of my video activities. So then spent all my free time making sk8er videos, including 5 videos of German Sk8ers that I met on a recent visit to Germany. It was my Sk8er friend Jon, who I’ve know several years, and who also helps me edit my videos, who set up my MySpace page for me, and showed me some of the tricks with the graphics. www.myspace.com/fotofreddie As I kept making videos, they kept getting better. Because of my trucking, photo and internet activities I have friends all over the world, but mostly in Germany and northern Europe along with here in the US. I have now also started a Youtube account for BMX Bikers on Youtube as www.youtube.com/fotofreddiebikervids . I am now also busy converting ALL my old trucking videos and placing them on Youtube @ www.youtube.com/HighwayHank1 This has now become my main Youtube channel I've always had a soft spot for Sk8ers, because us Truckers and Sk8ers usually get the same kind of second class treatment. Usually the same stuck up towns and cities that pick on Sk8ers are also the same stuck up towns and cities that pick on truckers and vice versa! And usually the same stuck up malls that have NO Truck Signs also have NO Skating Signs!! So Sk8ers know what it's like to be a trucker, without even realizing it. I'm just glad to live in a progressive kid friendly village, where not only do the police NOT pick on Sk8ers but also get along with them quite well. Heck even the Police Chief's teenage son is a Sk8er!! TOO BAD NOT ALL VILLAGES, TOWNS & CITIES AREN'T AS KID & SK8ER FRIENDLY, as where I live!!!!
An update on me. For over the last year now, I’ve been trying to go back to work, but have run into a stonewall, as all the big American fleets think us older truckers have early onset ALZHEIMERS, and forget how to drive a truck after only a few years off the road, and would rather hire someone with only 1 years experience, than someone like me with over 39 years experience.
