"weirdoldhattie shall be forever known to me as having a delightfully wonky view of things. Whenever I see someone using a fish eye lens, I will think of his photos, whenever I see little girls being a bit crazy and wearing goggles and running around industrial wastelands, I will think of his young 'uns. But at the same time, while being completely wonky, he has the ability to make things look grand - be it bugs or buildings or a big wall of graffiti. Wouldn't swap his photography for the world."

"WOH spends much of his time wandering the streets of Bristol preserving for posterity the otherwise ephemeral street art and unloved buildings that others would mistakenly pass by without a second thought. It's easy to spend time recording the great public buildings at the expense of the ordinary and arrive at a skewed understanding of the world, WOH redresses that balance. He's an all round good bloke too, if you get the chance, check out his excellent band Black Fire. As with most bass players, he will never refuse if you offer to buy him a pint, if you make it 2 or 3 pints and he might even agree to avoid pointing his own nice shiny new Canon 400D in your direction. His passion for the local railway infrastructure is perhaps an acquired taste, however his skills extend far beyond just uploading shots into flickr as he has had his own book published on the local Dramway, which as well as being written by him also contains a large number of his own photos.

Settle down in front of flickr with the libation of your choice and peruse WOH's photostream when you have plenty of time for a thought provoking photographic odyssey around the fair streets of Bristol."

"A bit of a free spirit who is passionate about his family and photography (even trains cannot see why but each to his own!) his photos seem to me to be a fine mix of semi documentary, history of Bristol, family and most importantly humour. Some one who has a keen eye and is happy to mix it up. It’s always a pleasure to drop by."
