I am originally from Chile and have been living in California since 1998. I have been fascinated by photography for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I loved to pick up my father's Minolta and pretend that I was a photographer, and try to capture moments with my mom, brothers and sisters.
In 2001, I began working with a dance company as a videographer, graphic designer, and light designer. I found myself growing frustrated with the quality of images I was given to use in brochures and other promotional materials, and was inspired to dive back into photography and begin shooting once again and here is part of my work.

"The first couple of times I saw Sergio's self-portraits I thought they were a perfect LaLaland LA Cool. I mean, he exudes cool, no matter whether he is in his house ... or more often than not at some outside location, which he perfectly incorporates into his attitude that day. But, the more I look at his shots, the more I feel that there is so much more than "cool" in his work. Each day, Sergio really shows who he is, through his crops and his treatment and his absolutely unique eye. Most of the 365rs I see spend their time jumping or pulling faces while close up. Sergio doesn't need to do that to convey something special. He uses color and angle and t-shirts and sunglasses, and uses them perfectly.
