I am a frustrated artist and musician with never enough time because of the day job. As to my success as a painter, my reply is that I have sold more works in my lifetime than Van Gogh sold in his (one or none for Vincent, depending on the source). One of my sets is photos of my paintings and drawings. If you send me mail, I will send you a link to my art site.

I am doing more photo because painting and drawing take time to set up and (ugh) clean up.

I like to travel and I sorta speak Spanish and French (at least the French answer me in French and don't turn away in disgust, at least not in my presence) and sorta read Italian.

Even though I love to travel, I am a nervous flyer and don't like planes and airports. Go figure.

Technical details: My 2006 xmas present to myself was a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I have also posted some pics taken with my Canon Powershot 500, which I gave away when I got the XTi. Now I sorta regret that because it would have been a great, and much more portable, second camera. My lenses (after some trial and error) are Canon EF 24-105 f4EF IS L, Canon 70-00 f4 L, and Canon 50 f1.4. My lighting consists of a Canon Speedlite 430 and a $14 Home Depot work light. Which explains that I use available light as much as I can.

I have some snapshots here, but my more "serious" work considers the universal themes of solitude and transience.
