*Hairbear's photostream
|

Neither hairy, nor beary. Origins of the name can be found here.
Alleged Freakosaurus.
Social photographer. Always enjoy getting out and about with other photo geeks.
Will try and take pictures of almost anything. Rubbish at people.
Scared of dogs, morris dancers and carwashes.
Shoot mostly digital, but enjoy experimenting with a few film cameras.
Oh, and I'm a generous builder, apparently.

"Hairbear's photostream is a microcosm of the real world. You will find everything from jars of acid to lush landscapes and sunscapes, the autumnal colours of Westonbirt Arboretum and the delightfully frosty spiders webs. Everything superbly composed. You will even see the moon from his bedroom window (how he has not been arrested for that yet I do not know).
The passion hairbair holds for photography is no more evident than in his "The attack of the jelly babies!!" set. Wonderfully inventive, colourful and hilarious. Next time you're feeling in need of inspiration you will find no better place to go than hairbear's photo stream in general or the famous jelly baby set in particular."5th December, 2006

Trapac says:
"The notion that *hairbear is a 'generous builder' should not put you off from visiting his stream. Not for him the dusty buttock cleavage, and grubby fingers of your average good humoured UK brickie as he whistles corporate unfriendly sentiment from lofty scaffolding whilst loitering for the next mug of stewed tea! No, this can't be true because I know he hates heights!
*Hairbear wields his Canon with nimble fingers and an eye for a curious angle. He is not averse to crawling on his hands and knees for the perfect shot, and I've never seen anyone with a four foot tripod use it for exquisite nature images no one else would think of - at knee level! He is remarkably self effacing, but he can turn twilight water into mystical silk, trees into animated dancers and Bristol by night never looked so gorgeous. Don't be lulled by the beautiful stuff though - for an insight into his wonderful humour, check out the adventures of Lego Luke Skywalker as he saves the universe from the advance of the evil jelly babies, so we can all be free to take photographs another day.
*Hairbear smiles lots, he has a generosity of spirit that is rarely experienced and is a joy to spend time with. If you ever get a chance to join him for a photo/flickr-walk - seize it! You'll learn loads and have a blast for he is indeed a 'generous builder' - flickr is a richer place for having him in it."4th December, 2006
