I am currently the Maintenance Director at the Denny Price Family YMCA. We are in the next phase of our improvements to the Y. This time we are adding a new reception area, new offices, and a much larger nursery. This new construction began Thursday, August 7, 2008, or should I say destruction. Friday, August 8, the east parking lot was removed. After the new construction is complete, the portion of the first floor that now houses the cardio and cybex rooms, the offices, the front restrooms, and the nursery will be cleared out. This area, which is from the current front entrance (east), to the north wall, back west to the upstairs gym, then south to the running track, will be remodeled to house all the cardio equipment, the cybex equipment, and the free weight equipment...all in one room. That will be the second part of this renovation. Finally, the existing free weight room will be enlarged and remodeled to house the new teen fitness center, which will include interactive games like Dance, Dance Revolution and other such exercise related games.
