Ever since I was a kid I have loved the outdoors. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, fly fishing, snow skiing, snorkling, backpacking, etc. I guess I just love getting out and exploring new places....especially the wild places. Growing up in the foothills of northern California gave me a small taste of good things, but I really love traveling north into Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and BC. Fewer footprints up in those places. I like that....a lot! Photography has been a long time hobby, but became a much bigger part of my life after FINALLY purchasing a DSLR in 2007. Prior to that I had several smaller digicams and a Canon EOS 650 film SLR. I would go out hiking, fly fishing, skiing, etc, and bring a camera along to document the trip. Now, though, I find myself going out into the wild places for the sole purpose of photography. (Although sometimes a kayak or a pair of skis can come in handy :) I live in Newcastle, California with my beautiful bride of 23 years Dena, daughter Kelsi, and son Tyler. I love God and I'm so thankful for His amazing creation. Each time I go out I am humbled by His awesome power and just pray that He will send me some of that beautiful light that all photographers dream of. Then I attempt to capture it.........and hopefully not mess it up too much!

Equipement: Canon 5D2, 17-40L, 70-200L, various Cokin ND grad filters, a small Slik tripod for hiking, a large Giottos tripod and ball head for close to car work, and a Osprey backpack with a customized foam insert to protect my camera and lenses while hiking.
