As a writer, journalist and human rights defender based in Bangladesh I have oppressed by the government. Since May 29, 2009, I have been residing in Germany as an exile writer and journalist due to my status as a politically persecuted journalist-writer and human rights defender. I have been working for peace, democracy, human rights, and minority rights since 1989. And I have an investigative journalist on Islamic militancy, state torture, corruption and extra judicial killings. I have written four books on human rights. My new book in English named 'Struggle for Peace' will be published very soon. I worked for the oldest Bengali newspaper in Bangladesh the daily Sangbad, Dainik Bangla, Ajker Kagoj, Banglar Bani, the New Nation, the Morning Sun, Ekushey television, 1st 24 hour news channel in Bangladesh CSB News and as a freelancer for Radio German (DW-Radio). I have worked as a regional coordinator of Bangladesh Rehabilitation Center for Trauma Victims (BRCT), and the coordinator of Taskforce against Torture (TFT), Rajshahi in Bangladesh. At presently I am the executive director of Justice Foundation, Bangladesh. After my persecution I have lost all of my jobs, and then I have started a web news portal on human rights jaakash.wordpress.com/
