Photography has been around in my family before my birth. My father had keen interest for photography. Our family photos range from well before the middle of last century and now expand photos up to the fifth generation. My introduction to photography were of course the photos taken at home, but as well the time we spent in the darkroom, where the family´s bathroom had been turned into a temporary darkroom where the magic happened - white paper would gradually turn into a photograph. My father build his own photographic enlarger by borrowing pieces from my broken toys etc. until he had a fully workable enlarger at hand. Lately I have been scanning these family photos directly from the film into my computer for distribution within the family over the internet.

At the age of 14 I had primarly interest in 8mm moviemaking. It wasn´t till I had my own family that I permanently got myself a 35mm SLR camera. With the digital age, it has become much less expensive to experiment in photography thus hopefully in general improving the quality of photos taken. I am enjoying observing the diversivity of photos being displayed here on Flickr, some of which I consider of high artistic quality. Hope I can learn something from it.

"Runar is a very talented photographer.
In his photostream there are a wide range of subjects: he catches the colors and the variety of the natural world, amazing and immense views of his beautiful country. He captures the beauty of flowers in a unique way, the emotions that originate from the spectacle of a sunset or a sunrise, but also the beauty of his city and many other little details with a refreshing and creative touch.
So I want to suggest to give a look through Runar's photostream: it's a pleasure for the eyes.
Moreover I have to thank him because he is always so thoughtful in giving such kind and encouraging comments.
Thank you Runar, Thank you for sharing your beautiful photographs!"
