I have been a professor of Roman Art and Archaeology since 1984. My permanent home is in northern New England, but I have spent and continue to spend a good part of my life in Italy -- may it continue! I've loved photography from an early age and have many abandoned 35mm film cameras to prove it. Digital photography has changed everything, but I still miss some of the old darkroom days and the magic of seeing a photo come up in the developing tray. Flickr, with its photo-sharing, is a very powerful new medium, and I am delighted to share my photos of the Classical world with colleagues, students, friends and my growing list of Flickr contacts. I'm learning a lot looking at the photos posted by others . . . thanks!!
