Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this son of York;
And all the clouds that low'r'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.

Richard The Third Act 1, scene 1, 1–4

The standard opening of "now is the winter of our discontent" is usually misconstrued without the second line, which helps it to read:
"now, is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer".

A somewhat more positive outlook! Those who know me, know that I am an unbearably cynical optimist. I love to explore both the light and dark side of the force, as will hopefully become evident from my stream.

So here am I, just another chump trying to explore light and dark, expand my horizon as I go, and hopefullly capture some of it with my glass chip storage thingy in a relatively pleasing way. Would be nice if I could work out how to take a reasonable portrait (hopeless), and landscape (bearable), rather than just macros, minutiae and abstracts (getting there).

My tendency is to lurk and admire other's work from a distance, rather than risk too much and put myself out there (a legacy of exploring some of the less hospitable net suburbs over the past 15 years).... hopefully flickr will inspire a more participative endeavour on my part, rather than just leeching all your inspiration and creativity.

Dive, thoughts, down to my soul
