Hi everbody! I’m Dr. Nick! No, no, I'm AJ Kessler.

I'm a photographer based out of San Diego, California. My obsession with photography began just over 6 years ago on a trip to East Africa. Since then, I've been trying to hone my skills as both a photographer, as well as a processor/printer.

I've been fortunate enough to live in the USA, which has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and most of it is within driving distance!

FORMAT
I began shooting Panorama's many years ago, and have seldom looked back. There is something about the format I just love. All of the shots on here are some form of panorama; either film, stitched single row, or stitched multi-row.

Sometimes this presents challenges; I had to build a new computer just to handle some of the larger file sizes. Frozen Subway, for instance is comprised of some 50 1ds2 shots, making the final file nearly 400 megapixels!

With the obvious time-consuming obstacles the sheer amount of data presents, the benefits are well worth it in my mind. Every shot featured on this page is capable of being printed to 90" on the long side, with no discernible loss in quality, even when viewed at very, very close proximity. I love the ability for the viewer to press their nose up against the glass and see finer and finer amounts of detail.

PRINTS
If you're interested in a print of anything you see here or on my site, just let me know. The web, and computer monitors in general, or horrible means of conveying the impact of a finished, framed print. If you like anything you see here, I can guarantee the feeling will be magnified by 100 fold seeing it in a big, detailed print. My prints rival anything out there from Michael Fatali or Peter Lik or anyone else.
